Quality Control Engineer

Role Overview

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for overseeing production and quality assurance processes, ensuring that all machining and finishing operations adhere strictly to specifications and quality standards. This role involves close coordination with production teams and vendors to guarantee defect-free output, meticulous inspection documentation, and proper handling of materials through to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain control plans from the designated supervisor before commencing inspections and coordinate daily production and inspection activities.
• Conduct in-process inspections of machining operations including keyways, threading, circlip grooves, step lengths, and step diameters, ensuring conformity before machining proceeds.
• Maintain dimensional records at various production stages including pre-and post-grinding, hard chrome plating, and rubber coating per drawing specifications.
• Manage rework procedures effectively by collaborating with production teams and identifying components for correction with appropriate traceability markings applied.
• Supervise grinding operations and post-grinding inspections focusing on critical parameters such as taper, runout, and diameters; oversee correct packaging to prevent damage.
• Perform on-site inspections at vendor locations for outsourced processes (hard chrome plating, rubber coating, VMC work, external grinding), generate inspection reports, and coordinate with material collection agents.
• Oversee material unloading from vendors, verify all dimensions after processes, and finalize inspections before storage or dispatch.
• Support third-party inspection processes by preparing necessary documents and assisting inspectors to ensure accurate measurement verification.
• Execute final packing of rollers with necessary protective measures and documentation, ensuring tagging and packaging compliance before dispatch.
• Ensure secure loading for dispatch, document the process photographically, and communicate dispatch details promptly.
• Assume full responsibility for the quality, inspection accuracy, packing, and dispatch workflow, maintaining a strong sense of ownership throughout the process.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Strong understanding of mechanical production processes and quality control techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Experience with inspection tools and measuring instruments.
• Proficient coordination and communication skills for liaising with internal teams and vendors.
• Attention to detail in documentation and adherence to quality standards.

Compensation

The monthly salary for this position ranges from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000.
