Qualified Baker

Overview

Bakers Delight Essendon North is currently looking for motivated and experienced Bakers to join our dynamic team. As the largest bakery franchise in Australia, we pride ourselves on delivering quality, variety, and value to our customers, supported by a collaborative and hardworking work environment. This position is full-time, approximately 38 hours per week, requiring flexibility including public holidays and varied shift times to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce bakery products adhering to Bakers Delight quality standards.
• Ensure product range and bread quality meet demand and timeliness.
• Maintain excellent teamwork and relationships within the bakery team.
• Manage all stages of bakery production including forming, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of breads, rolls, and pastries.
• Perform checks on equipment cleanliness and operations before production runs to comply with health and safety requirements.
• Assess raw material quality and accurately weigh ingredients.
• Carry out dough preparation tasks including kneading, cutting, molding, and shaping.
• Prepare fillings for pastries and monitor oven temperatures to ensure timely baking.
• Glaze, decorate baked goods such as buns and pastries.
• Operate machinery used for dough rolling, molding, and cutting.
• Clean and maintain baking trays and cooking equipment.
• Train and supervise apprentices and staff in bakery operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Availability for a flexible roster including early starts (as early as 12am), evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Experience working effectively in a fast-paced team environment with strong communication skills.
• Positive work attitude and ability to follow management instructions.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Attention to detail with good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Knowledge of food handling, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Minimum of three years baking experience or holding a Certificate III in Baking preferred.
• Previous experience in a bakery setting or similar food production environment is advantageous.

Salary and Work Location

This role provides an annual salary range of $79,000 to $81,000 plus superannuation. The position is based onsite at Bakers Delight Essendon North, Essendon, Victoria.
