Role Overview

This role is for an experienced QA Automation Senior Engineer / Lead with deep hands-on expertise in automation testing, API validation, and overall quality assurance practices. The position requires practical experience with Selenium, Postman, and SOAP UI, along with strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills. The selected professional will design and run automated test scripts, help ensure reliable software delivery, and support the development of junior QA team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and support automation frameworks using Selenium.
• Create and run automated test scripts for web-based applications.
• Carry out API testing through Postman and SOAP UI.
• Prepare and update test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Log, monitor, and manage defects in defect tracking systems.
• Partner with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and define test scope.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing.
• Review test outcomes and share clear status reports with stakeholders.
• Take part in Agile/Scrum activities and support sprint planning and estimation discussions.
• Maintain quality standards and follow established QA best practices.
• Coach junior QA team members on automation approaches and good practices.
• Coordinate with DevOps and CI/CD teams to integrate automated test execution into delivery pipelines.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Selenium WebDriver with Java or Python.
• Hands-on API testing experience using Postman and SOAP UI.
• Working knowledge of automation frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
• Experience in functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methods.
• Familiarity with defect management tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong SQL and database testing capability.
• Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and automation integration.
• Excellent debugging and analytical thinking.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rest Assured or similar API automation frameworks.
• Exposure to Jenkins, Git, Maven, or Docker.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience working in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
