Role Overview
As a QA Engineer II on the Nimble Cloud Logistics team, you will directly ensure the high quality of our cloud solutions that drive the most advanced robotic fulfillment system globally. Collaborating with a top-tier cross-functional team, your responsibilities include authoring and executing test cases, identifying defects, and contributing to the software releases that serve our customers. The team consists of approximately 30 members focused on delivering effective logistics solutions and may occasionally require extended working hours including weekends to meet critical launch deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of expected product behaviors.
- Conduct QA testing including functional, regression, and release tests using specialized test management tools.
- Create new, clearly articulated test cases enhancing overall test coverage.
- Document and track software defects thoroughly with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual outcomes, and severity levels.
- Verify bug resolutions and perform regression testing prior to releases.
- Test REST APIs directly with tools such as Postman and validate data integrity with SQL queries.
- Apply diverse testing approaches including functional, negative, boundary, and exploratory testing to robotic fulfillment products.
- Engage with product managers and engineers to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities early in the development cycle.
- Develop scripts or tooling enhancements to accelerate repetitive testing tasks.
- Leverage AI-powered tools to improve testing speed and quality.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 2 years experience conducting QA tests in industry settings.
- Proficiency in QA testing across web, mobile, or desktop applications.
- Familiarity working with SQL databases and RESTful APIs.
- Excellent written communication skills to generate unambiguous bug reports and test documentation.
- A meticulous and curious testing mindset committed to identifying software weaknesses.
- Ability to interpret written requirements and proactively clear up ambiguity.
- Strong motivation to continuously develop expertise in QA innovations.
Additional Skills and Experience
- Competency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with GraphQL and/or gRPC APIs.
- Knowledge of test management platforms like TestRail.
- Background in e-commerce, logistics, or order fulfillment domains.
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends during critical project phases.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 annually, subject to individual qualifications and experience. The role includes equity participation reflecting ownership in Nimble.
