Public Health Program Specialist

About the Role

This position is based at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109, within the Office of Dental Health. You will be part of a dedicated team leading oral health initiatives across Missouri, supporting community programs, and advancing evidence-based public health projects. Your work will support workforce development, oral health education, and data modernization efforts to ensure smooth program operations, compliance with grant requirements, and effective service delivery to Missouri communities. Collaboration with statewide partners is essential in managing data and contracts to build strong program infrastructure aligned with strategic goals. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about meaningful work, problem-solving, and enhancing public health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate contracts related to workforce development, oral health educational programs, and other grant-funded projects.
• Maintain and oversee program tracking systems and data workflows utilizing platforms such as Smartsheet, Qualtrics, and RedCap.
• Support quality improvement and data modernization activities, including assistance with surveys, digital tools, and web-based resources.
• Prepare and organize program deliverables, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with contract monitoring and preparing materials that demonstrate impact.
• Assist in creating and delivering trainings, presentations, and engagement activities for partners, including educational content and exhibiting events.
• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of online program tools and digital resources.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, with possible substitutions on degree requirements.
• Minimum one year of experience working in public health, health administration, or program delivery.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside solid analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with data management applications such as Excel, Smartsheet, and Qualtrics.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and effectively engage with external partners and stakeholders.
