Role Overview
The Proposals Engineer position is a full-time, on-site role located in Doha, Qatar. The engineer will be responsible for crafting competitive technical and commercial proposals for geotechnical and marine projects. Daily duties include analyzing tender documentation, extracting relevant technical and commercial information, and collaborating with teams in engineering, procurement, and operations to obtain necessary inputs.
The engineer will compile comprehensive proposal documents such as technical write-ups, cost estimations, and project schedules, ensuring alignment with client requirements and internal standards. Additionally, supporting sales efforts through bid clarifications, addressing queries, and contributing to presentations highlighting Ammico’s capabilities will be part of the role. Maintaining proposal timelines, record management, and continuously enhancing templates and data to improve efficiency and bid quality are also expected.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in crafting detailed proposals, interpreting tender documents, and developing structured technical and commercial submissions.
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines, with competency in reading technical drawings and project specifications.
- Understanding of sales principles including basic bid strategy, pricing, and client relationship assistance.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, including supplier quotation coordination, offer comparison, and supporting cost estimations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification is required.
- Prior experience in proposals, tendering, or cost estimation within construction, geotechnical, or marine sectors is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational abilities paired with meticulous attention to deadlines.
- Competence in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, plus experience with tender portals or document management systems.
- Effective communication skills in English, with the advantage of additional regional languages.
- A background in design or project planning is considered beneficial.
