Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to join APL Window Solutions in Waikato, New Zealand. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency by identifying constraints, risks, and opportunities through comprehensive analysis and leading improvements across various functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor operational workflows, performance metrics, and frontline feedback to detect inefficiencies, waste, risks, and improvement avenues.
• Examine data related to operations, quality, service, and finance to validate problem causes and estimate potential gains.
• Collaborate with senior management to define project scopes, business cases, expected benefits, success metrics, risks, and implementation strategies.
• Steer cross-departmental improvement initiatives from initial diagnosis to execution and evaluation of benefits, employing Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
• Engage with managers, team leaders, frontline staff, and partner organizations to develop pragmatic solutions and ensure long-term ownership.
• Hand over finalized projects to responsible managers and provide progress updates and recommendations to Senior Operations Management.

Candidate Profile

• Proven background in operational excellence, continuous improvement, Lean methodologies, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI is preferred, alongside an interest in AI and digital tools for problem-solving.
• Experience in defining scopes and managing cross-functional projects delivering measurable results.
• Commercially aware, capable of connecting operational performance with customer satisfaction and financial outcomes.
• Effective communicator able to influence senior leaders and frontline teams without formal authority.
