About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Data Infrastructure to lead and oversee complex projects within our Sydney-based organization. This permanent full-time role demands a strategic individual capable of managing data-related initiatives efficiently, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budget constraints, and align with overall business goals. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential for working across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the planning and execution of data infrastructure projects, aligning efforts with company objectives.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while identifying and addressing risks and challenges promptly.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define clear project requirements and deliverables.
- Supervise the creation and implementation of detailed project plans, including resource management and timeline adherence.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to facilitate successful project outcomes.
- Regularly monitor and report project progress and results to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with best practices in data management and the development of data infrastructure.
- Perform post-project reviews to uncover improvement opportunities and apply lessons learned.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
- Extensive knowledge of Data Infrastructure concepts such as data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Understanding of database systems including SQL and NoSQL.
- Professional certifications in project management, such as PMP or PRINCE2, are advantageous.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of expertise in project management focused on data infrastructure initiatives.
- Proven success delivering projects in dynamic settings.
Additional Information
Candidates with experience deploying enterprise Data Governance, Data Protection, and Information Security programs are highly valued. Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and tools like Varonis, BigID, IBM Guardium, Netwrix, or Proofpoint is desirable.
