Job description

About the Opportunity

This role is with the MakeMyTrip Foundation, the CSR and philanthropic wing of MakeMyTrip, dedicated to ensuring that tourism benefits rather than harms the communities and landscapes it touches. The Foundation's mission is to foster resilience, sustainability, and inclusivity in India's tourist destinations by supporting local communities and natural ecosystems.

Role Overview

The Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of CSR and community development projects. Acting as the vital link between office teams and field activities, the Coordinator will collaborate closely with partner NGOs, government bodies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure impactful, transparent, and quality delivery of programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of multiple CSR projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are achieved.
  • Act as the primary liaison with NGO and implementation partners by reviewing work plans, deliverables, and fund utilization aligned with agreed milestones.
  • Conduct regular visits to project sites to assess progress, verify implementations firsthand, and gather feedback from community members and partners.
  • Track and analyze project outputs, outcomes, and impacts using defined performance indicators; assist with baseline surveys, impact evaluations, and third-party assessments.
  • Develop comprehensive progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal management, trustees, and statutory CSR compliance.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, management information systems, and financial records to comply with governance and regulatory standards.
  • Build and nurture relationships with community members, government officials, tourism stakeholders, volunteers, and others contributing to program success.
  • Support the identification, design, and due diligence of new project proposals and partnerships.
  • Contribute to volunteer initiatives, awareness campaigns, and emergency disaster relief efforts when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A graduate degree is mandatory; post-graduate qualifications in Environmental Science, Social Work, Rural Development, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Sociology, Public Policy, or related fields are preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in CSR, NGOs, foundations, social impact, community or rural development, or environmental conservation sectors.
  • Strong background in project coordination, partner engagement, monitoring and evaluation, fieldwork, financial oversight, and impact reporting.
  • Additional experience in environmental conservation, afforestation, waste and water management, livelihoods enhancement, marine or coastal ecosystem protection, sustainable tourism, destination development, rural upliftment, or disaster relief is advantageous.

Why Join the MakeMyTrip Foundation

Join a purpose-driven team working across diverse geographies from the Himalayas to the Andaman Sea. Witness the tangible impact of your efforts in regenerating forests, empowering communities, promoting sustainable tourism, and supporting disaster recovery. If you are passionate about tourism that respects and uplifts the environment and local societies, this is an exceptional opportunity.
