Role Overview

This position is ideal for an early-career accounting graduate who enjoys organization, numbers, and understanding operational workflows. As a Project Coordinator, you will ensure consulting projects remain on schedule and within budget by managing timelines, tracking resource usage, and assisting with billing and financial processes. You will collaborate closely with senior consultants and gain foundational experience leading towards a consulting career, becoming billable within approximately two months and gradually increasing utilization over the first year.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules, monitor milestones and deliverables, and proactively identify risks to keep engagements on track
• Oversee consultant time tracking, resource allocation, and utilization data to maintain up-to-date delivery status
• Assist with billing and finance by preparing and reviewing timesheets and expense reports, supporting invoicing accuracy and timeliness
• Manage statements of work (SOWs), change orders, and maintain comprehensive project records and status reports
• Coordinate communication and logistics between delivery teams, consultants, and clients
• Collaborate with PMO and finance teams to enhance revenue realization, minimize revenue loss, and improve collections performance (DSO)

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related discipline; recent graduates or those in early career stages are encouraged
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously without errors
• Proficiency with numbers and spreadsheets (Excel), plus a keen interest in the operational aspects of service-based business billing
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of following up on updates tactfully
• Ability to work US business hours from Austin, TX or Southern California
• Self-driven with a proactive mindset to identify needs and execute solutions independently

Preferred Extras

• Accounting, finance, or professional-services operations internships or relevant coursework
• Experience using NetSuite, professional services automation tools (e.g., OpenAir, Kantata/Mavenlink, Smartsheet), or billing and travel & expense systems
• Basic understanding of consulting delivery processes, statements of work, or revenue recognition principles

Work Location & Schedule

This is a full-time remote role, requiring candidates to be based in Austin, TX or Southern California and available during core US business hours.

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an annual base salary range between $58,000 and $74,000 USD, which varies based on location and experience. It provides a clear progression pathway toward billable client work and consulting career advancement. The role is fully remote and benefits from working within a globally distributed team.
