Position Overview
The Project Control Engineer based in Abu Dhabi will play a critical role in supporting the cost control, financial monitoring, forecasting, and reporting requirements of PMC portfolio projects. This role ensures the maintenance of precise project control data and supports financial analysis to uphold strong project management controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) aligned with the approved budget, detailing hours, costs, task codes, cost codes, and related cost sheets.
- Prepare and keep up-to-date Project Control Statements (PCS) and Financial Control Statements (FCS).
- Evaluate Estimate to Complete (ETC) and revise Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts based on manpower deployment, approved scope, and future needs.
- Conduct variance analyses among actual expenses, forecasts, EAC, and approved budget figures.
- Input and maintain task codes and sell rates within Oracle ERP systems.
- Perform routine checks to guarantee that revenue, costs, and gross margins are correctly recorded and aligned in the system.
- Collaborate with finance, HR, and other departments to resolve issues related to timecards, billing, or project data impacting financial statements.
- Develop and upload resource plans into project control systems.
- Draft Manpower Mobilization Requests (MMRs) and supporting paperwork for client approval.
- Prepare invoices and pursue timely approvals and payments from clients.
- Support monthly financial processes such as accruals, reversals, revenue recognition, cost validation, and coordination with finance teams.
- Generate reports and snapshots using Ecosys or similar project control platforms to aid forecasting and management reviews.
- Create dashboard visualizations and project performance reports with MS Power BI, Excel, and other tools to facilitate informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Cost Management, or related fields.
- At least three years of relevant exposure in project controls, cost control, commercial assistance, or project reporting.
- Preferred experience in engineering consultancy, PMC, oil and gas, infrastructure sectors, or similar environments.
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of project controls encompassing budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting.
- Operational experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle.
- Proficiency in MS Excel focusing on data analysis and financial summarization.
- Skilled in developing dashboards and visual reports with MS Power BI.
