Position Overview
The Project Contract Administrator role involves providing reliable commercial and strategic guidance to clients in the transport and infrastructure sectors. This position works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support contract procurement, administration, and optimization. The role also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to the overall growth of the contract administration team.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Public Works Contracts primarily from the Employer’s Representative perspective on transport and infrastructure projects.
- Manage contractual responsibilities including correspondence, issuing instructions, clarifications, notices, and handling queries and contract changes.
- Maintain comprehensive project and contract documentation such as action logs, correspondence and change registers, risk records, and payment details.
- Collaborate with engineering, commercial, procurement, and client teams to ensure contract compliance and adherence to project procedures.
- Support tender and procurement activities through creation of documents, responding to clarifications, assisting evaluations, and maintaining governance records.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in contract administration, contract management, procurement, commercial management, or equivalent in transport, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or public sector projects.
- Thorough understanding of public works contract documents including conditions, work requirements, tender submissions, schedules, pricing, and contract correspondence.
- Proven experience in supporting tender and contract administration tasks such as preparation, clarifications, evaluation, responses to contractor queries, instruction issuance, and record maintenance.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail, capable of managing documentation, correspondence, actions, and multiple concurrent workstreams effectively.
