Stellenbeschreibung

Role overview

Tesla’s Semi Manufacturing Operations team is hiring an experienced, proactive Production Planner for the Semi Factory in Nevada. In this role, you will partner closely with manufacturing teams to help meet production targets for the Tesla Semi.

The position focuses on creating and managing production schedules across multiple parts of the value stream for Semi assembly. You will also analyze capacity changes and help shape the production roadmap for the assigned lines.

Key responsibilities

  • Build production schedules that align available capacity with demand for fabricated parts while staying in step with the factory master schedule.
  • Conduct analysis to support decisions on future production capacity increases or changes, and work with manufacturing and support teams to improve processes such as batch sizing, material transfers, controls, and just-in-time or line-side Kanban delivery.
  • Handle unexpected changes such as schedule shortfalls or material shortages by assessing impact, sharing information and alternatives with downstream operations, and adjusting shifts or production mix when needed.
  • Create and share production metrics and forecasts that highlight risks to component supply versus demand.
  • Represent production in sales and operational planning discussions, and communicate plans, revisions, and actual performance to manufacturing, support, and business stakeholders.
  • Work with supply chain, NPI, and engineering teams to coordinate ECOs, plan for material and product end-of-life, reduce obsolescence, and support new product launches.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned as business priorities change.

What the role requires

  • A degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations research, supply chain management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in high-volume production planning within a manufacturing setting, including at least 1 year of experience building and structuring analytical models.
  • Strong ability to identify process improvements and influence others to adopt changes.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance long-term projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent issues.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment, solving problems with minimal supervision, and improving operational visibility and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables; more advanced modeling skills are an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of SQL database management and Tableau; experience with SAP or another ERP system is preferred.

Benefits and compensation

As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for Tesla’s benefits starting on day 1 of employment. These include medical plans with $0 payroll deduction options, family-building/fertility/adoption/surrogacy support, dental and vision coverage with $0 paycheck contribution options, HSA contributions with the high-deductible medical plan, healthcare and dependent care FSAs, a 401(k) with employer match, employee stock purchase plans, company-paid basic life and AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance with a 90-day waiting period, an employee assistance program, sick and vacation time, paid holidays, back-up childcare and parenting support, voluntary insurance and legal/pet protection benefits, weight loss and tobacco cessation programs, the Tesla Babies program, commuter benefits, and employee discounts/perks.
