Production Operator Role Overview
We are looking for a committed Production Operator to join our manufacturing team in Auckland. The role primarily involves operating and maintaining production machinery to ensure products meet top-quality standards, while following safety and quality protocols and supporting ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly adhere to all safety, health, environmental, and site-specific procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Engage actively in safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and report hazards or near-misses promptly.
- Perform precise and timely quality checks, complying with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain accurate documentation of production metrics including stoppages and quality results, escalating issues quickly to relevant personnel.
- Operate and adjust production equipment based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting routine checks and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Participate fully in Nestlé Continuous Excellence initiatives aimed at waste reduction, efficiency improvement, and operational standard maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals, ensuring smooth shift handovers and daily communication.
- Complete necessary training to enhance skills and continuously improve competence in operating plant machinery and process monitoring.
Candidate Profile
- Dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive disposition.
- Physically fit to meet the manual handling demands of the role.
- Demonstrates adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and strict health and safety guidelines.
- Proficient with computer systems and quick to adapt to new digital tools.
- Competent in basic mathematics, including accurate measurement and data analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Forklift license is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring consistent quality standards.
- Resourceful and strategic in problem-solving situations.
- Capable of clear communication and collaboration with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders.
- Applicants must be either a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work visa for New Zealand.
