About the Role
Become a key member of our operations team as a Production Line Manager reporting to the Operations Department Manager. You will be responsible for driving the performance of the production line, overseeing equipment and personnel, and working closely with Process and Technical leads to meet targets related to safety, quality, cost, and production output.
Your leadership will focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence to maximize efficiency and achieve line goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage production line performance, equipment usage, and operator teams, fostering continuous improvements.
- Develop high-performing teams through effective engagement and coaching.
- Supervise shift teams including managing attendance, discipline, rosters, holidays, and training.
- Analyze line metrics to identify waste reduction opportunities, optimize efficiency, and control costs per tonne.
- Oversee re-work processes ensuring they are completed promptly and documented accurately.
- Promote adherence to production standards including centre lining, routines, product controls, and systematic defect elimination.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and ISO 22000 Quality standards, suggesting improvements when necessary.
- Encourage employee ownership of quality and foster involvement in the company's culture and values program.
- Maintain and enhance safety culture by upholding WISE2 Safety Management System principles.
Candidate Profile
You are an energetic and proactive individual experienced in production environments. Your strengths include stakeholder engagement, coaching capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement. You excel at building strong relationships, collaborating with teams, and driving business objectives collectively.
Additional qualifications and attributes include:
- Experience in dairy or food manufacturing preferred.
- Coaching and training skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to develop trustworthy relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills to build robust stakeholder relationships.
- Flexibility to work 24/7 manufacturing shifts including overtime, nights, afternoons, and weekends as required.
