About the Role
ShiftCare develops specialized care management software tailored for providers in NDIS, aged care, home care, and disability support sectors. The software facilitates efficient staff rostering, client coordination, and business management. As the company expands rapidly, we seek a proactive and meticulous Product Owner to contribute to our Product team.
This role offers hands-on involvement for professionals with a few years of experience in product or delivery roles seeking further career growth. You will own a distinct segment of the product backlog from start to finish, translating user needs and business priorities into concise, well-defined tasks within Linear. Collaboration with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams is critical to successfully delivering features.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring it is well-maintained, prioritized, and up-to-date through creating clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements.
- Prioritize features, improvements, and bug fixes based on customer feedback, support trends, and company goals to effectively influence the product roadmap.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives while continuously collaborating with engineering and design teams to resolve blockers and make timely scoping decisions.
- Engage closely with customers by collecting and synthesizing feedback from support interactions, user testing, and direct communication, maintaining focus on the needs of care providers and support staff.
- Monitor and evaluate feature success using metrics like adoption, engagement, and retention to guide decisions about further development or deprecation.
- Coordinate product launches by preparing release notes, briefing internal teams, and ensuring readiness across customer-facing and support teams.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive product documentation, including user stories, requirements, release materials, and FAQs, to ensure alignment among all stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in product management, product ownership, project management, or similar delivery roles, preferably within B2B SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, with practical experience in backlog management, sprint cycles, and iterative approaches. Experience with Linear or analogous tools like Jira, Asana, or Trello is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively translate between customers, business units, and engineering teams, producing unambiguous requirements.
- Highly organized and detail-focused, adept at managing multiple priorities, maintaining a tidy backlog, and following through consistently.
- Customer-centric mindset, genuinely interested in understanding user challenges and converting unstructured feedback into actionable tasks.
- Collaborative nature and willingness to learn; open to feedback and motivated to develop professionally in product management.
- Preferred: Exposure to care, health, or disability sectors and familiarity with analytics tools or basic data analysis techniques.
Benefits
- Early opportunity for genuine ownership, influencing features that have a direct impact on care providers’ daily operations.
- Hybrid work arrangement based out of Sydney with flexibility to support individual productivity and work style preferences.
- Dynamic and supportive product team environment with clear pathways for growth into senior product roles.
- Work on meaningful software that positively improves the quality of care delivered to individuals.
