About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager specializing in Thermal Generation to join a prominent engineering consultancy focused on major energy and infrastructure projects throughout the Middle East. This role entails steering the Thermal Generation business by shaping strategy, fostering business growth, providing technical guidance, and managing multidisciplinary project deliveries spanning from conventional to low-carbon thermal power generation solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the Thermal Generation business strategy at a regional level.
- Direct teams of multidisciplinary engineers and supervise project progression from initial feasibility studies through commissioning and asset optimization.
- Provide expert technical leadership encompassing Gas Turbine, Combined Cycle, Open Cycle, CHP/Cogeneration, Waste-to-Energy, District Energy, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture (CCUS) projects.
- Engage in business development activities, assist in preparing proposals, and maintain robust client interactions.
- Establish and nurture effective partnerships with utilities, EPC contractors, developers, technology suppliers, and government entities.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, retain profitability, allocate resources efficiently, and comply with health, safety, and environmental protocols alongside company policies.
- Champion innovation through digital engineering methods as well as initiatives focused on decarbonization and energy transition.
Qualifications and Expertise
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering is required; advanced degrees like a Master's or MBA are preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience within Thermal Power Generation, utilities, EPC, engineering consultancies, or owner's engineering sectors.
- Minimum of 5 years in leadership or managerial positions.
- Demonstrable expertise with Combined Cycle Power Plants, Gas Turbines, CHP/Cogeneration, Waste-to-Energy, District Energy, Hydrogen projects, and Carbon Capture technologies.
- Strong skills in project management, business development, and managing client relationships.
- Experience working in the Middle East market is highly favored.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CEng, or equivalents are advantageous.
