As a Product Manager on the Product team, you will envision ideal user experiences and work backwards to develop innovative products that delight both hosts and guests. This role requires a deep understanding of user needs, strategic product thinking, intensive research, and close collaboration with engineering, design, data science, and other teams to bring shared visions to life with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap across several incubation projects simultaneously.
- Convert new business concepts and hypotheses into clear definitions for minimum viable products (MVPs), utilizing the existing Guest App’s configurable platform components to reduce engineering workload.
- Design and execute pilot programs with defined success metrics and measurable objectives, analyze results promptly, and make data-driven decisions to scale, pivot, or terminate initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with business development, partnerships, and external stakeholders to ensure flawless integration of new features into the Airbnb guest experience.
- Create compelling product narratives to align internal leadership and support external marketing and launch communications.
- Maintain a thoughtful prioritization framework to balance incubations against core product priorities and demands.
- Encourage open communication, creativity, and agility within a fast-moving, resourceful team environment.
- Operate with high velocity and quality, delivering features quickly, learning, and iterating effectively.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Over 10 years of experience managing consumer products.
- Proven success in taking zero-to-one product ideas through incubation, pilot phases, and scaling into fully launched products, preferably in consumer internet, marketplaces, or similar sectors.
- Strong business insight with the ability to evaluate market viability, size opportunities, and translate ambiguous hypotheses into testable MVPs.
- Comfortable working in uncertain, unstructured environments and turning them into actionable and prioritized plans.
- Experience juggling multiple projects with competing priorities and stringent timelines.
- Exceptional skills in cross-functional collaboration and communication spanning business, partnerships, engineering, design, and analytics teams.
- Experienced in crafting product stories and partnering with marketing/communications for product launches.
- Hands-on approach with detailed involvement in product development, thriving in scrappy settings.
- Curious about and conversant with integrating AI tools into product workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in marketplaces or travel and hospitality products.
- Experience in new business development, venture teams, or startup-style roles within larger organizations.
- Familiarity with platform-based product development, including configurable components, merchandising, and API integrations.
- Track record of building partnership-driven products and those leveraging external API integrations.
Location Requirements
This role requires the successful candidate to be based in San Francisco, CA to effectively perform their duties. Note that employees cannot be located in several specified US states (Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware, and Rhode Island), with this list subject to updates. Alternative eligibility depends on the hiring Airbnb entity.

Compensation and Benefits
Title levels may cover more than one career stage, and compensation is influenced by training, skills, experience, business needs, and market conditions. The base salary range for this position is USD 232,000 to 282,000 annually. This role may also qualify for bonuses, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
