Role Overview

As a Product Engineer, you will tackle complex, open-ended problems by designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade AI systems focused on voice interactions. Working closely with leadership, you will influence both product development and technical strategies while directly engaging with users to incorporate their feedback into impactful features. Based in our Vancouver headquarters, you will be among our key early hires with significant responsibility and influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy new features for voice agents driven by client input.
• Enhance conversation quality, system responsiveness, and reliability throughout our platform.
• Broaden capabilities of our digital agents for both customers and business operators.
• Establish high standards and best practices for product development at VoiceValet.

Candidate Profile

• Proactive builder who delivers functional products and forms informed opinions on large language models (LLMs) and associated tooling.
• Adaptable to uncertainty without requiring detailed instructions.
• Keen sense of product aesthetics and usability, focusing on end-user satisfaction.
• Effective at interpreting customer feedback and converting complex domain information into actionable product plans.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming with languages like Python.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs including prompt engineering, model choice, and API integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of workflow automation tools like AWS Step Functions or n8n.
• Background in distributed systems architecture.
• Exposure to voice AI or telephony technologies.
• Experience delivering software products to small or service-oriented businesses.
