Role Overview

We invite experienced product designers who are passionate about crafting user-centered and impactful digital health interfaces to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will conceptualize and implement user experience designs, contribute to the visual design system through high-quality illustrations and motion graphics, and work collaboratively across teams including product management, engineering, and research. Integrating AI into the design workflow is essential, enabling designers to delegate substantive design tasks to AI tools efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive user experiences from initial concept through final execution, adhering to Hello Heart’s design system and visual identity.
• Create precise, clean, and functional UI designs that effectively simplify complex health data.
• Leverage AI technologies to enhance design workflows, including research analysis, prototyping, content creation, and accessibility evaluations, continuously striving for improvement.
• Produce original animations and illustrations to enrich the product’s visual narrative.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the fidelity of implementation.
• Engage in user interviews, usability testing, and exploratory product discovery activities.
• Clearly articulate design decisions during team critiques and stakeholder meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of four years designing digital products, preferably within product-centric or startup environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in UI design, including strong skills in layout, typography, color theory, illustration, and accessibility standards.
• Proficiency with motion design software such as After Effects, Lottie, or Rive.
• Advanced skills in Figma for UI design and creating interactive prototypes.
• A robust portfolio highlighting polished UI work, original illustrations, and motion design.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within diverse, cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience working in regulated, data-intensive healthcare settings prioritizing clarity and reliability.
• Capability to manage projects independently within a hybrid team environment.

AI Fluency Expectations

• Consistently utilize AI as a collaborative partner to perform multi-stage tasks such as synthesizing research, generating design variants, writing content matching company tone, and conducting heuristic and accessibility reviews.
• Skillful use of AI-augmented prototyping tools like Figma Make and Claude Design to rapidly progress from concepts to interactive prototypes.
• Deploy AI for ideation, image generation, and content creation, exercising sound design judgment to select useful results.
• Develop, refine, and share custom prompts and workflows to benefit the team.
• Bonus points for experience in customizing AI agents, crafting reusable design components, or integrating AI into complex workflows.

Compensation and Culture

This full-time position offers a US-based salary range of $145,000 to $160,000 annually, determined by role, experience, skills, and education.
