Product Designer

About the Role

Monstrum is an AI-focused product design and development agency collaborating with fast-paced startups creating AI-driven products from inception. We are expanding our design team and seek a Product Designer who can manage the entire design lifecycle independently — from initial sketches to finalized screens. Our work requires direct interaction with founders and product teams, emphasizing speed without sacrificing quality, and leveraging AI tools as integral design components rather than afterthoughts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product design initiatives across several client projects, handling everything from discovery and user flows to refined user interfaces.
• Create landing pages and marketing websites that effectively convert visitors in addition to appealing visually.
• Develop and upkeep comprehensive design systems within Figma that sustain robustness during developer implementation.
• Rapidly prototype concepts to validate ideas before committing significant resources.
• Present design rationale directly to clients, receptive to feedback, and advocate for design decisions when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with developers through structured handoff processes, utilizing AI-enhanced design-to-code workflows built on Figma.
• Incorporate AI tools daily to accelerate exploration, iteration, and production stages.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 4 years of product design experience with demonstrable shipped projects you can discuss in detail.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong UX expertise and refined visual design skills, including effective landing page creations.
• Expert proficiency in Figma features like auto layout, components, variables, and prototyping.
• Ability to manage ambiguity by interpreting loose briefs into well-formed design perspectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills given the client-facing nature of the role.
• Familiarity or enthusiasm for rapidly adopting AI-based design and workflow tools.
• Willingness to work hours aligned with the Pacific Time zone.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time remote position.
• Preference is given to candidates based in Canada, though applicants globally who can work Pacific Time are considered.
• Reports directly to Mo, CEO and Founder of Monstrum.
