Role Overview

The company is seeking a Founding UI/UX Designer to join as an individual contributor. This role involves taking full ownership of the product design journey, from initial discovery to delivering polished, production-ready interfaces. The position is remote and open to candidates based in the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product design efforts as the sole designer, managing the entire design lifecycle.
• Create user-friendly AI-native workflows that simplify intricate financial operations for non-technical stakeholders such as accounting and accounts receivable teams.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to quickly prototype, validate, and launch new features with high ownership and minimal overhead.
• Conduct user research, customer interviews, and usability testing to deeply understand pain points and translate insights into elegant design solutions.
• Establish UX standards for AI-assisted workflows including autonomous agents, human-in-the-loop approvals, automation transparency, and intelligent recommendations.
• Develop and sustain a lightweight, scalable design system ensuring consistency across the product.
• Integrate AI-driven design tools like Figma AI, v0, Cursor, Claude, and emerging technologies into daily design processes.
• Utilize analytics, user feedback, and experimentation to measure design effectiveness and iteratively enhance usability and business outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in product design with a focus on complex B2B SaaS products.
• Experience as the primary or sole designer at early-stage startups, preferably with fewer than 100 employees.
• A comprehensive portfolio showcasing ownership of product design, user research, interaction design, and polished visual execution.
• Proficiency in Figma and modern AI-powered design and prototyping tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex workflows.
• Preferred experience in fintech, payments, accounts receivable, or other complex enterprise software domains.
• Aptitude for thriving in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments with minimal processes and high autonomy.
• Excellent teamwork abilities, particularly in collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers.
• Desire to remain an individual contributor rather than transition into management roles.
