Job Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Lead will spearhead procurement initiatives across technology, operations, and corporate divisions. This role entails managing the entire commercial lifecycle of supplier partnerships, including market evaluation, strategic sourcing, negotiations, contract management, governance, renewal processes, performance tracking, and commercial enhancement.

The position collaborates closely with Senior Leadership, Finance, Technology, Information Security, Legal, Operations, Compliance, and Transformation teams to elevate procurement into a strategic business partner beyond a mere purchasing role. With procurement responsibilities currently spread under Finance and various units, this role establishes a focused procurement function essential for the company’s growth and innovation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans for key spending categories.
  • Enforce procurement governance, policies, and best practices.
  • Lead complex procurement programs supporting business transformation.
  • Identify supplier consolidation, standardization, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Craft category strategies covering technology, software, professional services, outsourcing, and corporate services.
  • Ensure procurement compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver financial value via cost-saving initiatives, ROI analysis, demand management, and skilled negotiation.
  • Provide Executive Leadership with procurement reports detailing savings, cost avoidance, supplier risks, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Lead procurement efforts in fast-evolving technology sectors including AI platforms (e.g., Generative AI, Large Language Models), enterprise software, digital healthcare, automation, data services, and cybersecurity.
  • Assess and optimize procurement commercial models such as token-based, consumption, API, enterprise and seat licensing, usage-based pricing, and multi-year agreements, particularly with increasing AI adoption.
  • Collaborate with Legal on all supplier contractual matters involving RFP processes, contract negotiation, Statement of Work creation, Master Service Agreements, licensing, renewals, amendments, exit strategies, and data/privacy risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with strategic suppliers through governance frameworks like quarterly business reviews, KPI dashboards, service evaluations, continuous improvement initiatives, executive steering sessions, and accountability for commercial and operational commitments.
  • Drive innovation and identify value-enhancing opportunities with suppliers.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or MBA.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
  • Proven track record handling complex technology and software procurement.
  • Understanding of AI commercial licensing and token-based pricing models.
  • Strong experience in managing high-value contract negotiations and full-cycle contract management.
  • Expertise in conducting RFPs and competitive sourcing.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including communication with C-level executives.
  • Robust commercial and financial insight combined with analytical and negotiation proficiency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in healthcare, insurance, TPA, or regulated industries.
  • Procurement experience with AI platforms or enterprise software solutions.
  • Familiarity with negotiating agreements from key technology providers such as Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, or Azure.
  • Involvement in digital transformation initiatives.
  • Possession of CIPS or equivalent procurement certifications.

Communication and Collaboration

The role requires effective interaction with all internal departments as well as external service providers, ensuring seamless communication to support operational smoothness and achievement of organizational goals. The incumbent must uphold strong internal and external communication practices.
