Process Executive - Trade Operations

Role Overview

The Process Executive - Trade Operations will be responsible for the seamless execution of commodity trade contracts, specifically servicing the Asia Pacific Oils Execution and operations at Bunge. Acting as an individual contributor, this position manages product-specific execution, position files, and coordinates appointments of surveyors and shipping agents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment execution by selecting and confirming vessels with the business team.
• Conduct vessel screening to ensure compliance with Bunge Global standards, including review of vessel charter party agreements and certificates.
• Obtain contract details from the business team for vessel nominations and update both sellers and buyers accordingly.
• Ensure counterparties confirm vessel nominations and maintain accurate vessel master status files.
• Create and manage contract vessels and parcels within the SAP system; nominate purchase and sales contracts.
• Execute and settle purchase and sales contracts in SAP promptly.
• Receive freight and purchase invoices from sellers and forward them to Finance for payment processing.
• Negotiate Letters of Credit and prepare necessary shipping documents.
• Prepare cargo stowage plans for CDSBO vessels destined for India, working alongside commercial teams to optimize intake.
• Select and oversee appointed surveyors and shipping agents for CDSBO vessels, monitoring service delivery.
• Guide the documents team regarding required documents for vessel execution to facilitate submissions to stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

• Address execution-related queries within stipulated timelines.
• Generate reports and queries assisting Finance with period-end closing tasks.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements by applying industry best practices.
• Investigate exceptions, perform root cause analyses to solve ongoing issues, and proactively prevent future problems.
• Provide comprehensive documentation for audits and implement corrective actions as directed by team leadership.

Impact and Performance Metrics

This role is instrumental in unlocking business value by flawlessly executing approximately 40+ vessels valued around 20 billion USD. The execution team must comply with SOX and audit requirements under specific controls (CON-0303, 08 & 09).

Key Performance Indicators include:

• Completion time for Execution Life Cycle (from Bill of Lading date to Presentation Date) with a best practice turnaround time of 5 days.
• Managing payment collections from buyers within contractual deadlines.

Skills and Competencies

• Experience handling bulk, break-bulk, and container shipments of agricultural commodities with strong knowledge of GAFTA and NAEGA contract rules.
• Proficiency in shipping commodity trade procedures, Letters of Credit, and shipping documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of European languages is advantageous.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Working knowledge of SAP systems is beneficial.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduation is required; postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in agri-commodities trade or shipment execution.
• Professional certifications such as MISC or CDCS are advantageous.
