About the Role and Company
We are seeking a Principal Technical Product Owner for the DoiT Partner Platform, a critical position within our Product Management team. This role is fully remote, open to candidates located in East US, Canada, UK, or Ireland. DoiT is a global technology firm focused on enabling cloud-centric organizations to harness cloud capabilities to fuel business growth and innovation. We combine advanced data, technology, and expert insight to help customers maintain scalable, well-architected cloud environments from planning through production.
The DoiT Partner Platform empowers cloud partners, resellers, and service providers to effectively operate, monetize, and expand their cloud enterprises across leading hyperscalers by providing solutions to manage cloud billing, margins, customer lifecycle workflows, and service delivery complexities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead as the primary product authority for the Partner Platform, guiding multiple product squads and setting standards for excellence.
- Own strategy, rapid execution, iteration, and learning cycles for platform components to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to translate broad strategic direction into actionable problems and deliverable scopes.
- Mentor and lead other Technical Product Owners to enhance overall product management and deliver cohesive outcomes.
- Drive iterative development through continuous feedback loops involving discovery, definition, building, release, measurement, and refinement.
- Review technical designs, evaluate tradeoffs and constraints, and assess impact on timelines and system functionality without directly implementing.
- Use extensive domain experience to understand partner workflows related to billing operations, margin management, customer management, support, and service delivery.
- Identify pain points and strategic opportunities by engaging directly with partners and leveraging operational insights.
- Possess deep expertise in multi-cloud billing constructs, marketplace programs, margin and discount models, customer invoicing, revenue operations, usage transparency, and marketplace workflows.
- Regularly engage with key partners through multiple weekly conversations and interact with executives across MSPs, system integrators, resellers, and cloud partners to validate ideas and refine workflows.
- Work closely with engineering leadership to ensure product vision translates effectively through technical tradeoffs and delivery planning with attention to cohesive UX, APIs, data, and operational behavior.
- Define clear success metrics such as partner adoption, onboarding speed, billing accuracy, retention, system reliability, and partner-reported impact and use these to measure outcomes and prioritize improvements.
- Ensure platform capabilities address operational realities such as billing accuracy, financial reconciliation, and auditability within the partner ecosystem.
Candidate Qualifications
- Over 10 years of product leadership experience in the cloud ecosystem with hands-on roles in cloud operations, FinOps, partner operations, or cloud platform development.
- Proven track record as a 'player-coach' leading strategic direction, executing hands-on with engineering teams, and mentoring other product owners.
- Strong understanding of cloud billing systems, cost and usage analytics, and revenue operations within cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud partner business models including resellers, MSPs, system integrators, distributors, and marketplaces.
- Experience building or managing platforms serving channel or partner-driven business models.
- Excellent product intuition to convert complex operational challenges into clear, valuable products with outstanding user experiences.
- Technical fluency with core cloud concepts and APIs across AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure; coding skills are advantageous.
- Demonstrated use of AI to expedite product specification and development processes.
- Outstanding communication skills to collaborate with partners, cloud subject matter experts, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong bias toward action with continuous improvement through shipping, measuring, learning, and iterating.
Success Indicators
- Recognition as the principal product leader driving the Partner Platform's vision and delivery.
- Consistent rollout of platform features that deliver tangible partner value.
- Robust partner feedback engagement that directly informs the product roadmap.
- Increased adoption of the platform and measurable enhancement of partner operational workflows.
- Improved billing accuracy, financial transparency, and scalability for platform users.
- Engineering teams have clarity on priorities and purpose behind feature development.
- Effective mentoring and elevation of fellow Technical Product Owners through leadership.
