Job description
About Radiant
As part of the Infrastructure team, we are seeking a highly strategic, technically fluent, and commercially astute Principal Procurement Lead, Compute and Storage. In this role, you will own the end-to-end procurement strategy, engage with vendor ecosystems, and contribute to commercial negotiations for our highest-value capital investments. This includes high-density GPU clusters, high-performance network fabrics, storage, and our upcoming site connectivity.
You will serve as the primary bridge between our internal Infrastructure teams and the world's leading technology OEMs (e.g. Nvidia, HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Supermicro…) and storage vendors (Weka, Vast, DDN…). Your mission is to build the most effective and resilient supply chain to support the implementation of our Technology roadmap, optimize our clusters’ Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and mitigate global supply chain risks for massive, cutting-edge computing infrastructure deployments.
About the Role
We are expanding our footprint of AI factories and GPU clusters. This role runs procurement for the compute and storage category, globally. That covers GPU systems, servers, racks, networking within the rack, and storage platforms.
You own the path from technical design to signed commercial package. You deal directly with the leading compute and storage OEMs, and internally with Architecture, Technical Operations, Commercial and Finance. Individual packages run from a few million dollars to nine figures.
Our procurement model splits by category area, and further leads will follow as we scale. This is the first of those roles. You set the standards the rest inherit.
What You'll Do
Own category strategy for compute and storage, refreshed each quarter against the technology roadmap.
Structure, issue and score RFIs and RFPs. Requirement capture through to purchase order.
Own the price book for every vendor in your category. Line-item level, version controlled, and the source Finance uses for CapEx forecasts.
Validate every bill of materials before a purchase order goes out. You run that review across Architecture, Technical Operations, Commercial and Finance.
Negotiate commercial terms. Volume discounts, maintenance, software bundling, freight, delivery windows.
Normalise competing bids into one comparable CapEx position per configuration, and hand that to Finance for TCO and unit economics.
Run quarterly supplier scorecards and hold the escalation path into each vendor account team.
Publish a monthly lead time and allocation view for Infrastructure and DC Development. You flag slippage before it reaches a build schedule.
What You'll Bring
7+ years in strategic sourcing, category management or technical supply chain. At least three years on IT infrastructure hardware.
Direct negotiation with hardware OEMs on capital purchases above $10m.
You can read a server bill of materials and challenge it. Wrong part numbers, missing optics and cables, undersized drives, support lines that do not match the service terms.
You build the CapEx and vendor cost models Finance relies on. Every line traceable to a quote, and you defend the inputs in review.
You hold a position against a vendor account team under time pressure.
Nice to Have
Experience in HPC, AI infrastructure, hyperscale datacentres or cloud infrastructure.
CIPS or CPSM.
Sourcing under allocation constraint. GPUs, HBM, optics.
