Our mission is to enrich lives by championing the love of pets, nurturing a culture that is high-performing, compassionate, and focused on delivering excellent customer experiences where our employees can excel.

Role Overview

We are expanding our enterprise People team with three new senior Principal People Partner roles. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, these individual contributor positions will collaborate closely with Executives and senior management to convert business strategies into actionable and strategic people priorities. One role focuses on veterinary services, while the other two support retail operations.

Situated at our North Ryde Support Office, the Principal People Partner will serve as the primary liaison within our enterprise-wide People Operating Model. You will align leaders with specialist teams in Talent Acquisition, People Systems, Learning and Organisational Development, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Employment Relations, and Reward to provide integrated people solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forge trusted and strategic partnerships with Executives and senior leaders as a coach, adviser, and constructive challenger.
  • Develop and implement workforce strategies, talent management priorities, succession planning, and organisational effectiveness for your designated portfolio (Retail or Veterinary Services).
  • Lead organisational design and refine operating models, clarifying roles, accountabilities, decision-making processes, and work practices.
  • Leverage workforce insights, engagement data, and business performance metrics to forecast risks, identify opportunities, and formulate actionable plans.
  • Collaborate with specialist People teams to create scalable solutions covering employee relations, reward, recruitment, learning, safety, and systems.
  • Guide leaders through periods of change, transformation, and complex workforce decisions, balancing commercial goals and employee experience.

Candidate Profile

  • Seasoned People and Culture professional with at least 8 years in a senior business partner capacity, ideally within retail, FMCG, animal health, or veterinary sectors.
  • Expertise in strategic business partnering, workforce planning, organisational design, talent management, succession planning, performance, reward, and leadership coaching.
  • Proven experience navigating large, multifaceted, multi-site or operational enterprises, with background in retail, healthcare, consumer sectors, or similar dispersed contexts valued.
  • Strong analytical skills employing data and commercial insight to shape people strategies and remuneration decisions.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills along with strong executive writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.

Why Work With Us?

This role offers a visible platform to influence people, culture, and organisational effectiveness at an enterprise level within Greencross. You will engage with senior leadership, drive impactful business results, and foster leadership development within an organisation committed to enriching lives through pets. Join our dedicated, service-oriented People team passionately focused on collaboration, leadership excellence, and enhancing the employee experience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in senior business partnering roles within high-volume environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or related discipline.
