Position Overview
The Principal Communications Officer for Forensic Science Queensland is tasked with crafting and executing advanced communication strategies, managing marketing initiatives, promoting events, and engaging with key partners to support FSQ's objectives.
Primary Duties
- Operate independently with high judgment to develop strategic communication plans addressing complex topics and new priorities.
- Offer expert strategic communication counsel to senior leaders and project managers on sensitive and high-visibility FSQ matters.
- Lead and oversee significant communication programs or campaigns impacting the organization broadly or involving various departmental stakeholders.
- Build and sustain collaborative partnerships to deliver creative, efficient, and focused communication solutions.
- Design, implement, and assess comprehensive communication strategies across traditional avenues and digital platforms including social media, website management, and event coordination.
- Manage official correspondence, prepare briefing documents, and keep senior branch and organizational leadership informed about project milestones, results, and challenges.
- Ensure all communication content adheres to Queensland Government's branding standards and departmental corporate identity.
- Engage in liaison and reporting activities aligned with government administrative and policy protocols.
- Actively support initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement.
