Role Overview
Billanook College invites applications for a dedicated and qualified Primary Visual Arts Teacher to join their dynamic teaching team on a part-time, ongoing basis (0.67 FTE, minimum 4 days per week) starting Term 1 of 2027 (commencing Monday, 18 January 2027). The successful candidate will deliver Visual Arts education for students spanning Early Learning through to Year 6. This role is perfect for educators passionate about nurturing creativity and artistic skills in young learners.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Plan and implement an engaging Visual Arts curriculum suitable for Early Learning to Year 6 students.
- Cultivate student enthusiasm and confidence in visual arts practices.
- Contribute positively to the school’s culture by supporting excellent student behaviour, fostering peer connections, and encouraging a sense of belonging and self-worth among students.
- Collaborate with the learning team to maintain a creative and supportive educational environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications in Primary or Early Years education with relevant experience teaching Visual Arts.
- Demonstrated passion for art education and the ability to inspire young students.
- Commitment to upholding the college’s values surrounding diversity, equity, inclusion, and child safety.
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and successful clearance of Working with Children checks (or willingness to obtain these).
- Strong interpersonal skills to work cohesively within the school community.
