Position Overview
The University of Konstanz invites applications for a fixed-term full-time postdoctoral position from January 1st, 2027, until December 31st, 2029, at salary level E13 TV-L. The position is associated with the Chair of Comparative Political Economy within the Department of Politics and Public Administration. This role forms part of the DIFIS-funded research project titled "Radical Technological Change and the Welfare State: Consequences and Interactions Reflected in Public Opinion," led by Prof. Dr. Marius Busemeyer, which explores how transformative technologies like AI and the green transition influence labor markets and public attitudes towards welfare policies.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth qualitative case studies related to project themes.
- Design and execute expert interviews and focus group sessions.
- Analyze qualitative data collected through research activities.
- Communicate and disseminate research outcomes effectively to academic and broader audiences.
- Collaborate closely with the research team to support overall project advancements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Doctorate in political science, sociology, social policy, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest and expertise in social policy research.
- Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies, with practical experience in case studies and ideally in organizing focus groups.
- Additional familiarity with quantitative approaches, including surveys and experimental designs, considered advantageous.
- Strong writing and communication skills in both German and English.
