It also provides operation and maintenance services to ensure steady functionality of the infrastructure. Moreover, the company undertakes specialized tunneling work for water and sewage pipelines employing tunnel boring machines and pipe jacking methods, serving full project lifecycle needs.
Role Overview
The Planning Engineer role is a permanent, on-site position based in Jeddah. The incumbent is responsible for formulating and updating project timelines, resource allocation schemes, and detailed work schedules specifically for wastewater and tunneling ventures. Key duties include monitoring project progression, assessing schedule deviations, and generating comprehensive reports and forecasts that assist in project oversight and informed decision-making.
Regular collaboration with project managers, site engineers, and other relevant parties ensures that scheduling accurately reflects on-site realities and contractual obligations. The role requires recognizing potential risks or bottlenecks, suggesting remedial measures, and aiding in the continuous refinement of planning and execution methodologies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory.
- Professional certifications in project planning or management such as PMP or PMI-SP are required.
- At least seven years of specialist experience in planning and schedule preparation is essential, with background in wastewater and tunneling projects preferred.
- Proven capabilities in planning and production planning to create achievable schedules, resource usage plans, and activity sequencing for construction and maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills for project control functions, including tracking progress, analyzing discrepancies, managing baseline schedules, and supporting both cost and timing efficiency.
- Effective communication skills to engage multidisciplinary teams, draft clear reports, and participate constructively in stakeholder meetings.
- Proficiency in using Primavera P6 scheduling software along with a solid command of MS Office tools, especially Excel.
- Fluency in Arabic is required, supplemented by good written and verbal English communication skills.
