Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Planner/Estimator to join the Henderson Engineering Services team. Reporting to the Machining and Fitting Workshop Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, competitive pricing estimates and ensuring timely completion of assigned jobs while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality, consistent, and competitive job estimates covering all essential cost factors.
• Interpret technical specifications, plans, and data to calculate time, labor, and cost requirements for estimates.
• Gather detailed information and assessments from trade teams to support precise estimate preparation.
• Procure materials based on technical requirements and coordinate with external service providers to ensure project delivery.
• Participate in handovers between business units, ensuring comprehensive transfer of necessary information to operational teams.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to collect relevant data.
• Manage costs effectively and optimize resource use to achieve target profit margins.
• Provide reports and updates as requested.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, reduce waste and errors, and boost productivity.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, clients, suppliers, and other departments.
• Report promptly to the Operations Manager about any significant safety, quality, contract, financial, or industrial relations concerns.
• Ensure adherence to all company management processes and standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Trade qualification or higher education credentials.
• At least 3 years of estimation experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Capability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
• Competence in handling complex tasks and multitasking.
• Good time management skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Skilled in collaborative work and teamwork strategies.
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
