PHD Peer Reviewer - Pediatrics

Role Overview

This is a stable, long-term part-time opportunity that can be performed remotely. The position involves reviewing academic manuscripts in the pediatrics field and supporting journal editorial decisions through detailed, objective evaluations.

What You Need

• A PhD or an equivalent advanced doctorate in the relevant subject area.
• At least 5 papers published in SCI or SSCI journals during the last three years.
• A solid grasp of research methods and the ethical standards relevant to the discipline.
• Strong analytical ability and sound critical thinking.
• Excellent written communication skills for giving clear, concise, and useful feedback.
• The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently with time constraints.
• A commitment to confidentiality and objective judgment.
• Previous experience reviewing papers for academic journals is a strong advantage.
• Comfort using online manuscript submission and peer-review platforms.

What You Will Do

• Judge whether each manuscript contributes original ideas, findings, or perspectives to the field.
• Review the study design and methods to confirm they are suitable, complete, and described well enough for others to reproduce the work.
• Check that the literature review is current, relevant, and properly referenced.
• Assess whether the results are clearly presented and whether the conclusions are supported by the evidence.
• Offer practical, constructive suggestions and point out weaknesses, missing elements, or ethical issues.
• Provide an informed recommendation that helps the editor decide whether to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript.
