Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator who excels in accuracy and enjoys resolving payroll-related challenges. You'll manage payroll operations across several Hazelwood companies, collaborating closely with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure timely and precise employee compensation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payrolls accurately for multiple entities.
- Oversee administration of employee benefits, RRSPs, commissions, tax remittances, and reimbursements.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records, ensuring data integrity.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and perform reconciliations.
- Address and resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities and related reporting.
- Partner with Human Resources and Finance departments to support payroll functions.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Payroll Assistants.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification preferred, either completed or underway.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
- Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, Eclipse, Payworks, or equivalent systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and taxation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Exceptional precision and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational abilities, problem-solving skills, and effective time management.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service aptitude.
- Team-focused and collaborative work style.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
