Painter

Overview

We are searching for a skilled Painter to join our team at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar. This role involves applying various painting and finishing techniques to walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces while ensuring adherence to property color schemes and safety standards.

Key Duties

• Apply paint, stains, varnishes, enamels, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns in accordance with specifications.
• Prepare surfaces by applying primers or sealers and removing old finishes through stripping, sanding, brushing, or abrasive methods.
• Protect surrounding areas by covering surfaces and displaying appropriate paint signs during work.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of painting tools and materials after completion of tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding paint color modifications using additives to achieve desired consistency and shade.
• Comply with all company safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment and handling hazardous materials per Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and accidents promptly to management.
• Uphold guest service standards by greeting guests warmly, anticipating their needs, and maintaining clear, professional communication.
• Follow company policies on confidentiality, appearance, tool security, and quality assurance standards.
• Perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, bending, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Safety & Policies

• Use correct protective clothing and equipment and follow safe lifting procedures to avoid injuries.
• Complete required safety training and certifications for hazardous materials handling and emergency procedures.
• Ensure secure storage of flammable substances in approved containment.
• Identify, correct or report unsafe working conditions promptly.
• Maintain respectful and confidential interactions with guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma related to painting or finishing work.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant painting or related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
