Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces by removing grease, dirt, paint, or rust through abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasting.
  • Support painters by assisting in pre-paint blending and ensuring smooth preparation.
  • Collaborate with the painting team to maintain workflow and meet scheduled vehicle delivery timelines.
  • Apply body fillers to repair minor dents and scratches and smooth surfaces ahead of painting.
  • Perform buffing and waxing on completed paint jobs to ensure quality finish.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble painting sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for maintenance and cleaning.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience in vehicle paint preparation processes is necessary.
  • I-CAR certifications are favored but not mandatory.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and cooperate effectively with team members.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers compensation on a commission and flag rate basis, with flag pay guaranteed to meet or exceed local minimum wage requirements for all worked hours weekly. The average annual total pay ranges from $40,640 to $100,000, depending on job-related expertise, certifications, and experience.
