Job Overview
This role involves generating and issuing system codes and exercising remote control over allocated assets within a Remote Monitoring Control (RMC) environment. Responsibilities include maintaining security protocols, managing alarm and incident monitoring, administering security databases, and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and provide system access codes following security verification and confirm information accuracy from stakeholders before issuance.
- Monitor operational systems, alarms, and incidents, ensuring systems function at required levels and escalate issues as per protocol.
- Keep detailed records of system activities, faults, and transgressions, maintaining registers such as occurrence books.
- Cultivate and sustain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners; respond to queries and escalate security transgressions.
- For RMC operators: manage ATM custodian system permissions, monitor vehicle statuses and route adherence, activate vehicle protection units remotely, and communicate emergency situations to senior management.
- Handle early warning intelligence gathering and risk profile management for operational runs, facilitating mitigation strategies.
- Maintain OTC systems in absence of device administrators and provide updated site reports.
- For Control Room operators: provide system battery codes for lock replacements, support security officers with alarm testing and records, monitor events, analyze trends, and report to supervisors.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Internal candidates require 3 years operating or monitoring access control systems (e.g., CCTV) with at least Grade 10; or 1 year with Grade 12. External candidates should have 2 years experience including one year in client service roles.
- Experience in call centers, client services, logistics, or CIT industry is advantageous.
- Education: Grade 10 minimum for internal applicants with experience; Grade 12 minimum for external candidates.
- Additional: PSIRA D certification is a plus. Candidates must be willing to work shifts and occasional overtime, have basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and be capable of multitasking effectively.
