Job Overview
Amazon Logistics is recruiting an Operations Supervisor to work collaboratively with Area and Operations Managers to promote innovative practices and ensure smooth execution within the transportation network. This leadership role involves motivating a team to meet performance benchmarks and uphold productivity standards that align with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include overseeing attendance, managing workflow, and resolving operational challenges in partnership with senior management.
Work Environment
Operations and Distribution functions operate continuously (24/7), requiring flexibility in shifts to accommodate changing business demands.
Primary Duties
- Promote a robust health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation and internal policies.
- Support daily departmental management and supervision tasks.
- Conduct team debriefings, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed.
- Execute tasks following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Delegate responsibilities to staff to maintain workflow efficiency and achieve daily targets.
- Ensure sufficient staffing levels through managing absences, coordinating training call outs, monitoring individual performance, and providing coaching.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members to ensure they are prepared to perform their duties.
- Collaborate with management to track, analyze, and report key performance indicators and metrics.
- Assist management in diagnosing factors affecting goal attainment, whether positive or negative.
- Track employee schedules and hours worked.
- Identify and resolve process issues within the operational area as required.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or defects.
Basic Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, night shifts, and holidays.
- Previous experience in logistics and warehousing operations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 20 kilograms, remain standing or walking for shifts up to 10 hours, and frequently perform activities such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in team leadership and management.
- Familiarity with planning, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing process improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
