Stellenbeschreibung
About the Role
We are developing a comprehensive physical and digital operation where coordinated fleets of robots interact with custom-engineered setups to generate vital data for the advancement of intelligent systems. In this context, precision, reliability, and rapid iterative learning are essential. We are seeking an Operations Lead who combines the discipline of engineering, the ingenuity of a creator, and the composure necessary to manage complex systems within practical constraints. Your responsibility will be to ensure that a multi-robot operation runs end-to-end efficiently, reliably, and with ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the performance of our physical systems by overseeing uptime, maintenance schedules, consumable supplies, and operational rhythms.
- Recruit, develop, and supervise on-site operators and student workforce with clear communication and strong technical insight.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of our data initiatives, including selecting, preparing, tracking objects, and ensuring integration into reproducible workflows.
- Design, build, and sustain physical tools such as fixtures, mounts, custom adapters, and mechanical components to support workflows.
- Engage hands-on in hardware engineering tasks as needed, including designing or modifying end-effectors, brackets, adapters, and prototype parts.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues collaboratively with engineering teams.
- Handle procurement, inventory, vendor relations, and logistics for all necessary equipment and materials.
- Design and refine workflows, quality assurance protocols, safety measures, and scaling strategies to enhance system capabilities.
- Develop scalable processes capable of transitioning from pilot setups to larger facilities supporting multiple robot fleets.
- Maintain a facility environment exemplifying engineering best practices, including organization, safety, orderliness, and inspection readiness.
Candidate Profile
- You excel at ensuring physical systems operate consistently and dependably under real-world conditions.
- You possess the practical skills to adapt hardware, conduct component testing, and fabricate straightforward fixtures or end-effectors confidently.
- You have a deep understanding of hardware-software integration and are adept at troubleshooting issues spanning both domains.
- Your previous experience includes working in laboratories, manufacturing plants, or robotic facilities where throughput, quality, and reliability are critical.
- You treat organizational systems and process design as engineering challenges, utilizing SOPs, labeling schemes, dashboards, and feedback loops effectively.
- You lead with composed authority, fairness, and a practical focus on clear communication and constructive guidance.
- Procurement and logistics management are strengths of yours, balancing precision with cost-efficiency.
- You prioritize clear communication, ethical behavior, and act promptly when circumstances demand.
- You are motivated to build essential infrastructure that fundamentally enables future capabilities and does not currently exist.
Significance of this Role
Scaling robotic operations transcends algorithm development; it requires well-engineered physical environments, durable hardware, repeatable workflows, and operational systems resilient under high demand. Your contributions will directly affect the reliability, throughput, and technical reputation of the systems foundational to our work, leaving a lasting impact for years to come.
