Department Overview

Become part of Disney's Corporate Brand team collaborating closely with leadership in Platform Operations & Governance, Program Management, and Data Governance. This team enhances visibility and operational efficiency in enterprise-wide consumer data projects, delivering trusted data and streamlined governance across all segments.

Role Summary

The Operations Analyst serves as the primary liaison for generating meaningful insights from cross-enterprise project operations and governance data. This includes analyzing logs, metadata, and data quality indicators from tools like Alation and Snowflake, converting them into clear, actionable reports for internal teams and leadership. The role leads auditing and reporting efforts relating to data tagging, use cases, access, change management, data quality, data retention and deletion, and policy compliance. Moreover, the analyst acts as the product owner and advocate for the central project operations and governance portal, ensuring information accessibility and operational transparency across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze logs and activities on data tagging, use cases, access, and change management to deliver regular reports and insights; oversee use case requests in the portal and collaborate to summarize data quality metrics for stakeholders.
  • Construct reports and visualizations to support privacy adherence reviews and Data Governance Council meetings; conduct audits on data retention and deletion to confirm policy compliance.
  • Assist the Data Governance Council by managing meeting transcripts, recordings, and preparing related reports.
  • Utilize Alation to generate metadata insights, monitor data stewardship, audit data curation activities, and surface profiling insights on new data assets; develop and publish data lineage insights to improve understanding of data origins.
  • Conduct policy and standards compliance audits and report findings for the project.
  • Own requirements gathering, enhancement, and maintenance of the central governance portal, ensuring it serves as a comprehensive hub for governance initiatives and communications.
  • Collaborate with governance, program, engineering, and business teams to curate and update portal content including dashboards, documentation, compliance updates, and best practices.
  • Promote portal adoption through training sessions, user outreach, demonstrations, and feedback collection for continuous improvements.
  • Create dashboards, alerts, and status updates highlighting progress, risks, and achievements for leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with senior data governance and program management staff to keep operational processes and stewardship resources precise and current.
  • Enable portal users to easily access governance resources, understand data quality, and connect with team members for prompt resolution of issues.
  • Continuously assess portal usage, solicit feedback, and recommend enhancements to boost clarity, engagement, and organizational impact.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in data governance, data operations, or analytics, including auditing logs for access, changes, and use case activities to generate recurring reports.
  • Experience developing, publishing, and maintaining dashboards, documentation, or intranet/portal content designed for broad business audiences.
  • Proficiency with Alation or similar data cataloging platforms and comfort analyzing Snowflake logs or usage data; familiarity with spreadsheets and documentation or project management tools such as Confluence or SharePoint.
  • Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing digital portals, communication hubs, or extensive documentation systems.
  • Background supporting enterprise data governance or transparency in complex industries like media or entertainment.
  • Knowledge of privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and experience with retention/deletion audits and governance council reporting.
  • Experience in user enablement, training, or promoting adoption of systems or platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this Burbank, CA role is $82,300 to $106,400. Final pay depends on factors including regional considerations, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
