Position Overview
This role is offered by a partner company seeking an Onboarding Operations Specialist based in Ireland. The specialist will be responsible for managing the entire onboarding process for businesses joining a rapidly expanding digital platform.
The role involves overseeing customer verification, balancing compliance with customer satisfaction, and aiding quicker activations. It spans the areas of compliance, operations, and product enhancement by pinpointing friction points and developing scalable improvements. The goal is to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience while upholding high standards of risk management and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of customer onboarding, from gathering documentation to activating accounts.
- Perform KYC and KYB reviews including analysis of business entities, corporate structures, beneficial ownership, and source of funds.
- Implement onboarding procedures across different jurisdictions, understanding various regulatory and documentation requirements.
- Exercise risk-based decision-making and escalate complex cases with well-founded recommendations.
- Coordinate with external partners to address onboarding queries, exceptions, and information requests efficiently.
- Act as the primary customer liaison during onboarding to clarify requirements and resolve documentation issues.
- Collaborate with sales and internal teams to advance onboarding without compromising compliance.
- Identify and eliminate workflow bottlenecks, propose process enhancements, and explore automation potentials.
- Partner with product teams to automate repetitive manual tasks through improved tools and solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in KYC/KYB, customer onboarding, compliance operations, or frontline compliance roles.
- Proven expertise verifying business entities, corporate structures, and identifying ultimate beneficial owners.
- Knowledgeable about customer due diligence requirements across multiple regulatory environments.
- Capable of distinguishing true risk factors from routine documentation issues using sound judgment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, able to explain complex compliance requirements clearly to clients.
- Experienced in managing large volumes of cases accurately while juggling competing priorities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fully remote setting.
- Familiarity with onboarding, workflow, and case management tools, including awareness of automation possibilities.
- Understanding of AI technologies for document review and operational efficiency is desirable.
- Experience in cryptocurrency, digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain payments, or related fintech sectors is advantageous.
