Job description
Duties
- Deliver health education and counseling both in classroom settings and on an individual basis to students.
- Administer emergency first aid care for illnesses or injuries occurring during school hours following accepted protocols.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation related to student health.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to assess and interpret students' health conditions.
- Participate actively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive school health program.
Requirements and Conditions of Employment
- Must comply with Selective Service requirements for male applicants born after December 31, 1959.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship is mandatory for all applicants.
- Direct deposit payment method is required.
- Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background investigation and fitness determination.
- A Tier 1 investigation with Childcare Checks is mandatory due to working with minors under 18 years old.
- The role includes random drug testing, requiring signing of DA Form 5019 to consent to drug urinalysis.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet any of the following education and licensure requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) plus successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
- Applicants with a bachelor's degree in other fields are acceptable if they hold an active, unrestricted professional nurse license or registration from a U.S. State, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Nurses from Puerto Rico must provide NCLEX pass proof.
Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by a recognized organization confirming equivalence to U.S. accredited programs, or the applicant must demonstrate full credit for courses at an accredited U.S. institution.
