About the Role and Company
Inizio Engage partners with top biotechnology firms across Commercial, Patient Solutions, and Medical Affairs sectors. We are seeking a Nurse Navigator to deliver tailored patient assistance, helping individuals navigate access to their prescribed treatments. This position blends case management expertise with clinical knowledge and patient advocacy to optimize outcomes and facilitate prompt treatment access.
This opportunity involves representing a prominent biotechnology organization in launching innovative therapies to patients with critical needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, and payers to secure patient access to prescribed medications and clarify financial support options and educational materials.
- Act as primary contact for patients and caregivers to personalize support throughout the treatment experience.
- Assist healthcare professionals with enrollment processes into patient support programs.
- Guide patients or caregivers through post-prescription steps, including program enrollment, benefits verification, prior authorization, financial aid, and therapy commencement.
- Provide education on program benefits, insurance procedures, disease states, and treatments using approved resources.
- Manage patient cases from referral to therapy initiation, ensuring information accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Investigate benefits to assess coverage, prior authorization needs, and patient financial obligations.
- Handle prior authorization and appeals by collecting plan criteria, submitting requests, and following up to ensure prompt resolution.
- Identify and resolve therapy barriers such as financial, clinical, or adherence-related challenges proactively.
- Support medication adherence and maintain patient engagement through systematic follow-up touchpoints.
- Coordinate smoothly with providers, pharmacies, and internal teams to guarantee cohesive care delivery.
- Document all patient interactions and results in accordance with program standards.
- Monitor case progress and escalate complex reimbursement issues as necessary.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuous enhancement activities.
- Follow all regulatory and privacy guidelines strictly.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least three years of clinical nursing experience.
- Preferred: three or more years of experience in dermatology or immunology.
- Two to five years in case management and patient support.
- Familiarity with case management, patient access, HUB services, or specialty pharmacy settings is advantageous.
- Strong comprehension of healthcare systems and patient advocacy principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to independently manage a patient caseload effectively.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable working in virtual or call center environments.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $64,000 to $120,000 annually, with exact pay reflecting experience, skills, equity considerations, and organizational needs.
