Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and commercially aware Procurement Manager to head our procurement activities nationwide. Located at our Hope Valley Corporate Office and reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you will spearhead procurement strategies that yield ongoing cost reductions, reinforce supply chain strength, ensure effective contract management, and maintain excellent supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute a national procurement plan that aligns with organizational goals.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards to guide operations.
• Identify opportunities to realize cost savings across main spend categories.
• Lead strategic sourcing efforts including tenders and supplier negotiations.
• Build and maintain robust supplier partnerships promoting value, innovation, and exceptional service.
• Monitor supplier outcomes using KPIs and foster continuous improvement.
• Negotiate commercial contracts, frameworks, and supplier agreements.
• Oversee contract performance, including renewals, pricing checks, and compliance adherence.
• Drive initiatives to optimize costs and total cost of ownership in procurement functions.
• Analyze spend patterns, industry trends, and supplier performance for informed decision-making.
• Support sourcing and commercial assessment for capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with procurement rules, authority delegations, regulations, and ethics.
• Support Modern Slavery, ESG commitments, and supplier due diligence processes.
• Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting for Executive Leadership insights.
• Lead, mentor, and expand the capabilities of the procurement team to promote responsibility and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related area.
• Professional certification in procurement such as CIPS is highly valued.
• Between 5 to 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management roles.
• Proven track record of managing procurement in multi-location operational environments.
• Strong skills in commercial negotiation and contract management.
• Experience managing significant supplier contracts and leading strategic sourcing projects.
• Advanced skills in analytics, financial assessments, and reporting.
• Industry experience in heavy industry, mining services, transport, engineering, or industrial services is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing abilities.
• Dedication to safety, ethical procurement, compliance, and continuous improvements.
