About the Role

We are seeking a Biology expert for a short-term contract focusing on creating and solving advanced Biology problems to test the limits of large language models (LLMs). This role involves developing detailed, logical solutions and collaborating with researchers to enhance AI evaluation benchmarks relevant to Biology education from early undergraduate to PhD levels.

Responsibilities

Create and solve complex Biology problems that challenge LLM capabilities.
Develop comprehensive, stepwise solutions featuring clear and precise reasoning.
Work closely with LLM researchers to ensure alignment of problem design with evaluation goals, especially targeting areas where models underperform.
Help define novel assessment benchmarks based on Biology curricula ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels.
Approach complex biological questions with systematic and logical problem-solving methods.
Communicate biological concepts effectively, simplifying explanations through language, illustrative visuals, and simulations if necessary.
Offer detailed feedback and annotations integral to AI evaluation workflows.

Requirements

Possess or be pursuing a Master's or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields, including postdoctoral candidates.
Demonstrate strong research capabilities and analytical problem-solving skills.
Skilled in providing constructive feedback and comprehensive annotations.
Show creative and lateral thinking aptitude.
Exhibit excellent structured communication and collaborative abilities, particularly in remote environments.
Be self-driven and capable of independent work.
Have access to a desktop or laptop with a dependable internet connection.

Commitment and Compensation

This remote contract requires a minimum daily commitment of 4 hours with up to 40 hours weekly, maintaining a 4-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST). The compensation is set at $250 per completed task.
