Merchandise & Assortment Planner

About the Role

Join Nike as a Merchandise & Assortment Planner contractor where your work will influence key business decisions across marketplace channels. This role involves managing commercial assortments and budget controls, particularly focusing on open-to-buy (OTB) management for digital and physical marketplaces. The position supports Nike's mission of pushing boundaries and fostering innovation through a culture that celebrates diversity and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage OTB budgets and assortment plans for digital and marketplace channels.
• Analyze sales data including point-of-sale (POS) figures, sell-through rates, and inventory levels to inform weekly and seasonal strategies.
• Lead weekly business review meetings collaborating with merchandising and planning teams.
• Develop and present assortment plans and performance reports to senior commercial leaders.
• Detect opportunities and risks during the current season and advise on in-season inventory adjustments.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of two years’ experience in merchandise planning, assortment planning, or retail buying.
• Proficient in retail mathematics, including OTB management, margins, sell-through metrics, and weeks of supply.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Cognos is advantageous.
• Strong capability to communicate data-driven insights effectively in business review settings.
• Experience collaborating with merchants and planners within a matrix organizational structure.
• Exposure to ecommerce or direct-to-consumer channel planning is beneficial.

Additional Information

The role is hybrid with the expectation to be onsite Monday through Thursday. Locations include Beaverton, Oregon and Boston, Massachusetts.
