Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and other stakeholders to design tailored mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems compatible with building requirements.
- Perform HVAC heating and cooling load calculations to select appropriate equipment and optimize energy efficiency.
- Choose mechanical and electrical components such as HVAC units, pumps, generators, lighting, and electrical panels based on design criteria.
- Ensure all system designs and installations comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and standards.
- Coordinate closely with structural engineers and related professionals to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
- Provide accurate cost estimations for MEP installations to assist project budgeting and management.
- Supervise construction activities to verify correct system installation according to specifications.
- Design energy-efficient and sustainable systems to minimize environmental impact and operational expenses.
- Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of systems prior to building occupation to confirm functionality and performance standards.
- Support ongoing maintenance and system upgrades post-construction to ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose and resolve system failures or operational problems as they arise.
Skills and Expertise
- Capable of conducting detailed site inspections and ensuring site readiness.
- Proven ability to oversee smooth system installations and effectively manage teams.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting related to site activities and observations.
- Strong skills in handling escalations and coordinating across multiple functional teams.
- Display ownership mentality with a focus on outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Process-oriented approach with solid knowledge of electrical wiring principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- B.Tech, B.E., or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Proficiency in house wiring, load calculations, and AutoCAD software.
- In-depth understanding of power supply systems including single- and multi-phase power, inverters, and generators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
