About the Company and Role
AECOM is a leading global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to improving communities through its innovative projects worldwide. They are currently seeking a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) to join their Dublin office. This position offers exposure to diverse construction projects including commercial, mission critical, healthcare, education, residential, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The role provides an opportunity to work on all phases of construction projects, from initial cost planning and procurement to construction and project completion. Core duties include pre-contract activities such as cost modelling, benchmarking, value and risk analysis, and procurement management. Post-contract tasks involve attending site meetings, conducting valuations, financial reporting, due diligence, and managing change control procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying with at least a 2:1 or equivalent, preferably from an RICS-accredited program.
- Up to two years of relevant experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong enthusiasm, technical skill, ambition, and a willingness to pursue professional accreditation (SCSI/RICS).
- Proficiency with basic computer applications such as Word and Excel, along with good report writing capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments.
- An interest in MEP building systems is a notable advantage.
