Medical Editor

Job Overview

This position offers a pay rate between $43.05 and $48.05 per hour. The Medical Editor will be responsible for editing research articles and medical journal summaries intended for websites and eNewsletters, ensuring these materials are accurate, clear, and consistent with editorial standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform editorial review and refinement of research articles and medical journal abstracts for digital and newsletter publication.
• Ensure all content aligns with established editorial guidelines and client specifications for clarity and accuracy.
• Conduct precise word-for-word comparisons with client-approved content for digital assets such as email campaigns, landing pages, banner advertisements, and social media promotions.
• Verify that content messaging is consistent with client-approved material and adheres to house or client-specific style guides.
• Oversee the implementation of changes from Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) reviews to guarantee compliance.
• Collaborate with contracted Advanced Practice Providers to select and curate medical articles featured in eNewsletter campaigns.
• Conduct final word-for-word checks and test HTML content links to ensure error-free alignment with approved PDF versions before deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in editorial roles, copyediting, or within medical communications preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of editorial style guides and digital publishing standards.
• Familiarity with regulated industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical education considered advantageous.
• Exceptional grammar, spelling, and fact-checking capabilities.
• Competent at managing multiple deadlines collaboratively across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems; experience with Workfront or equivalent project management software is preferred.
