Stellenbeschreibung
About the company
Auror is building technology to help the retail sector fight theft and organised retail crime, a global issue worth $150 billion. The problem is growing more coordinated and continues to threaten people, stores, and communities every day.
Originally founded in New Zealand 12 years ago, Auror now supports major retailers across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. The company’s platform brings together people and intelligence to reduce crime, with a focus on using technology for good.
The company’s mission is to cut violent retail crime by 50% within five years. Auror believes this is possible by working closely with retail partners and hiring people who are driven, resilient, and creative. The team is also actively exploring responsible uses of AI to improve detection, customer support, and internal workflows, and encourages employees to think about how AI can improve their work regardless of role.
The opportunity
As Marketing Operations Director, you will own the full marketing operations environment from end to end. You will join a Revenue Operations team that was created 12 months ago and includes four people working closely with Auror’s global marketing team. This is a chance to help shape the standard for excellence in a scaling business and take full ownership of a key domain.
Your scope includes the marketing data stack, campaign operations, attribution, and reporting. You will build the visibility needed to improve performance, design the infrastructure that connects marketing activity to measurable outcomes, and create consistent ways of working for how the team executes, tracks, and scales.
This role requires both strategic thinking and strong technical ability. You will bring operational structure, set a high standard, and align cross-functional partners before getting into the details so that the wider team stays coordinated. It is a builder-style role with direct support from the CMO and Revenue Operations leadership, focused on improving consistency, governance, and scalable reporting as the business grows.
The position may be based in Melbourne or Auckland. Although the Revenue Operations team is mainly located in Melbourne, candidates in Auckland are also welcome, and Auror’s headquarters is in Auckland.
Responsibilities
- Work with regional and global marketing teams to create scalable processes and configure systems that support execution.
- Define and own the structure of marketing systems and attribution, with reporting that clearly explains marketing performance to the business.
- Partner with Revenue Operations colleagues to make sure the data passed into downstream systems is accurate, controlled, and reliable.
- Take ownership of the full marketing data stack, from system architecture through to attribution, and ensure it is used effectively and configured properly.
- Build standard operating frameworks for how marketing plans, measures, and scales its work, removing blockers and speeding up delivery.
- Strengthen consistency and governance across marketing operations and uphold a strong standard for execution.
- Align internal stakeholders on delivery strategy so marketing and business teams remain coordinated.
The role reports to Adam Burns, Director of Revenue Operations. Adam describes himself as someone who enjoys solving technical problems and designing well-structured systems that reduce the time internal customers spend fixing issues. He values a safe environment for learning and experimentation, and looks for people who are curious, self-driven, open to learning, and willing to share knowledge with others.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing and/or revenue operations within B2B SaaS, with senior-level ownership and a strong focus on marketing operations.
- Direct ownership of a HubSpot instance, including architectural decision-making and accountability for the outcomes.
- Strong understanding of awareness and funnel metrics, including share of voice, organic visibility, MQL, SQL, SQO, influenced pipeline, and pipeline velocity, with reporting suitable for C-level and board-level review.
- Proven experience building attribution frameworks rather than only using pre-existing ones.
- Working knowledge of SEO and AEO fundamentals, including how organic and AI search visibility affects top-of-funnel performance and how to report on it.
- Experience with HubSpot-Salesforce integration and the data issues that often arise in that environment.
- Comfort working in a newly formed function without an established playbook inside a business with more than 10 years of history.
- Ability to explain operational complexity clearly to both senior stakeholders and technical peers.
- Strong comfort with AI tools and use cases, including knowing where AI adds value and where it does not.
- Alignment with Auror’s guiding principles.
Auror also states its commitment to diversity and inclusion, welcoming people of all backgrounds and identities, including but not limited to race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, and age.
Benefits
- Competitive pay, with a salary range of NZD 142,500 to NZD 175,000, or AUD 155,000 to AUD 185,000 depending on experience.
- Annual bonus potential of NZD 8,250 if the company meets its revenue goals for the financial year.
- Employee share scheme so you can own part of the business.
- Flexible, outcome-focused working style that supports a healthy work-life balance.
- Shorter work week with Friday afternoons off at full pay.
- Health insurance support through Bupa in Australia or nib in New Zealand.
- Wellness support including Wellness Days and up to NZD 750 per year for expert sessions.
- Paid parental leave available from day one: 12 weeks for birth parents and 6 weeks for non-birth parents after birth, adoption, or surrogacy.
- Support for professional development through courses, conferences, and events.
- Regular team lunches and social events, most of which happen during working hours.
Application process
Candidates are encouraged to apply if they are excited by the mission and believe they have the relevant experience. Auror also welcomes applicants who may not meet every requirement but feel they are a strong match.
A cover letter is requested as part of the application. It is optional, but the hiring team recommends including one to share what drew you to the role and why you want to join Auror.
After applying, candidates will receive an acknowledgement. If you have questions or need accessibility support, Auror says help will be provided from there.
Compensation note
The compensation range listed is NZD 142,500 to NZD 175,000.
